Santa is coming, the entertainment is booked and Taranaki is ready for Christmas at the Bowl this weekend.
The iconic night at the TSB Bowl of Brooklands has been a family favourite since 1999 and this year the stage will be packed with talented dancers, singers, and local performers.
Artistic director Jordan McFadyen said the line-up was led by MC Tumehe Rongonui, and included the Belle Birds, the winning performance from Sacred Heart at the Showquest, the Taranaki Children’s Choir, the Highway 45 Dance Project, the New Plymouth Brass Band, and a huge number of other outstanding entertainment acts.
“We’ve got a fantastic lineup of over 50 Taranaki performers,” McFadyen says.
“As well as a very special performance as we are granting a wish in conjunction with the Make a Wish foundation.”
That special performance will see a dream come true for a young boy who has always wanted to perform on stage at Christmas at the Bowl.
This Sunday the pre-show music kicks of at 6.30pm and people are encouraged to bring along a picnic, a rug, and all the family.
The main entertainment starts at 8pm and the evening ends with a bang at 9.30pm with the Powerco fireworks display. Afterwards, audience members can celebrate the opening weekend of the TSB Festival of Lights and walk through Pukekura Park to complete a truly magical family evening.
Candles and candle holders are provided and gold coin donations are appreciated to help the Trust continue to offer this treasured family event each year.
The event is made possible by a hardworking team of volunteers and the help of TSB Community Trust, NZ Community Trust, Powerco, More FM and Baker Tilly Staples Rodway.
