Shortland Street star donates designer handbag to New Plymouth auction

Designer handbags by Deadly Ponies, Kate Spade, Mulberry and Status Anxiety are among the goodies up for grabs at this year’s Bags of Success auction.

Twelve handbags worth up to $800 each will be auctioned off, including a Deadly Ponies handbag donated by former Shortland Street star Grace Palmer. Each handbag comes with a goodie bag while some also contain personal messages from the woman who donated it.

The fundraiser for Dress for Success New Plymouth will be held at 10 Devon St (next to the old CC Wards) on Wednesday, October 30 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.  There will be bubbly, nibbles and entertainment and a chance for guests to nab themselves a bargain, all while supporting a great cause.

There will also be spot prizes and a silent auction that includes a Pandora jewellery set, a King and Queen Hotel voucher and two Lushington jackets.

Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the 3-Day Fashion Pop-Up Shop, with racks of good quality, pre-loved clothing all on sale for either $10, $20 or $50.  The shop will be open to the public at the same venue from Thursday, October 31 until Saturday, November 2.

Dress for Success New Plymouth co-ordinator Helen Montgomery said the event would not be possible without the support of the local businesses and women who donated items for both the auction and pop-up shop.

Dress for Success is a non-profit organisation that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools.
