It’s time to get excited, because New Plymouth Operatic have announced the full cast for their fabulous 2019 production of Priscilla – Queen of The Desert.
The quality of people who auditioned for the show, and the exceptionally strong group of cast members chosen had left the organisation delighted, NPOS marketing manager Patrick Landrigan said.
“Priscilla will be another great opportunity to display the incredible range of talent in our region.”
Seventeen-year-old old Josh Clarke, one of the most talented young performers to ever come through New Plymouth Operatic, will headline the cast for the show.
“We are looking forward to the public seeing what we have known for a while – this kid’s got talent,” Landrigan said.
Josh first joined New Plymouth Operatic for 2016’s Sister Act, which opened just weeks after his 15th birthday. Since then he has performed in featured roles for NPOS in Mary Poppins (2017) and Boogie Wonderland (2018).
Priscilla presents Josh with his biggest performing opportunity to date, but also the most challenging. He is also looking forward to sharing the stage with his girlfriend Nicole, who is also part on the Priscilla onstage ensemble.
The full cast list for Priscilla is included below.
The cast begins their music rehearsals with Music Director Phillip Malcolm in late February. Director Stephen Robertson returns to New Plymouth full time at the beginning of April.
Priscilla packs into the TSB Showplace over Queens birthday weekend in early June, ahead of opening night on Thursday June 20, 2019.
